About Terravey

Terravey provides project management, change management and risk management services. The driving force behind Terravey is Cindy van der Top, a senior executive with a big four consultancy and international business background.

Cindy has worked across a broad range of industry sectors gaining extensive experience in project management and business change. Building on her grounding in finance and risk management, she advises clients on general business and risk management issues. She combines this with excellent inter-personal and communication skills.

Throughout her career Cindy has worked in different countries (Abu Dhabi, Paris, London, New York, Amsterdam) and has been exposed to many different cultures. She has advised a range of organisations including a multi-national publisher, a hospital, a medium-sized IT company and her family's business.

She studied accountancy in Amsterdam and holds an MBA from Warwick Business School.

Project management

Cindy 's general business background and breadth of experience enable her to translate an organisation's strategic goals into a coherent set of changes that need to be made at an operational level. She is able to assess the impact a project has on the broader organisation including the activities of employees. Change management aspects are typically interwoven with the project management discipline in her approach. Cindy doesn't mind rolling up her sleeves and engaging with details in order to get the job done.

Project planning, achieving business results and staying within budget are key success factors that Cindy manages in every project.

Track Record

  • Development and implementation of a corporate communication strategy including the design, development and implementation of a corporate intranet
  • Assessment and improvement of cost and headcount reporting across European BUs, and implementation of ongoing profitability benchmarking
  • Responsible for the overall integration of a newly acquired French company into the international group, ensuring alignment with group policies and procedures
  • Development of an effective business management model across a 400+ beds hospital to ensure an effective transition to a private business model

Change management

Cindy's interpersonal skills and change management experience enable her to engage effectively with senior stakeholders to understand their views, deal with conflict and build support for change. She has a methodical approach to change management addressing the need to build a case for change and create commitment to change. Cindy works with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, accounting for their differing perspectives and needs.

Track Record

  • Improvement of sales force efficiency by instilling discipline in communications and reporting, mobilising the sales force for action and adding structure and alignment to the sales process
  • Identification and realisation of opportunities for operational performance improvement through interactive workshops with employees
  • Ensuring a new way of working in the areas of sales, technology, finance and HR for all employees of a newly acquired technology company

All of the above projects have been realised using techniques such as workshops, presentations, one-on-one coaching, communication program, stakeholder alignment, education via training and communication.

Risk Management

Building on her accounting background and experience within big 4 consultancies, Cindy helps organisations to manage risk.  This covers strategic and enterprise wide risks as well as change and project risks.  In addition to facilitating risk identification, assessment and the determination of risk responses, Cindy helps organisations develop risk awareness and design the appropriate approaches to communication and training.

Track Record

  • Development of a Key Risk Indicator report for executive management of a financial institution
  • Development of a training program for operational risk managers of financial institutions
  • Providing consultancy services in the area of risk management, internal control and GRC tooling
  • Implementation of GRC tools in conjunction with the further development of the risk and control methodologies
  • Development and implementation of internal control frameworks for a number of organisations
